I am new to this forum and searched for post related to this topic but there are just too many hits. I hope this question has been asked before.
I have a serial device that I would like to connect to my PC through Ethernet. The SB700EX looks like a suitable interface. My question is: Is there existing Windows driver software that will setup a virtual COM Port in the PC such that my application programs can connect to the serial device through the SB700EX?
The application programs will use any existing COM Port that has been defined in Windows Device Manager. Of course, the COM Port speed and other attributes have to be defined in the driver.
I would like to also use the SB70LC or similar in the same application. My main reason is allow custom packaging in our lab equipment. However, if the virtual COM Port driver only works on the SB700EX, that's fine too.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Virtual COM Port
I have used a virtual serial port device from Eterlogic, it is free for any use and has worked well for me.
