This is your friendly reminder that application security is something you should think about from the very beginning for any device that is connected to a publicly accessible IP address. Let me repeat that: as a casual thing someone can now scan the entire IPv4 Internet and connect to every visible instance of something (with a reasonably complicated protocol). In sixteen minutes (well, allegedly).

It's not a question of if your device will be found, simply a question of does anyone care to see what it does.
