application failed to download

Post by ltx8d »

Hello, I am using mod54415 and nbeclipse for my application. for some reason, I cannot download my NEW application to the board any more. I checked the network, it's working fine. I also tried to stop my old application by typing "A" in MTTY. but my old application still runs. any idea why? thanks for the help.

Are you seeing the standard boot monitor message i.e. "Waiting xSec to start 'A' to abort', where x is the number of seconds set in IPSetup?
Did you follow the directions on the wiki FAQ How do I download a new application via MTTTY?. Make sure you POWER DOWN and then power up and hit SHIFT-A right away. Don't just use the reset button.

Are you connecting to the serial port via USB or the RS2332 port?

Did you connect with IPSetup, select your board on the right and then open the advanced tab and verify that those settings are as you expected?

Given that this is a MOD54415, my recommendation is to short the alternate boot jumper and do a power cycle. Continue shorting the jumper until you see the 'nb>' prompt in the altmon. For more info, see this thread: Did you 'brick' your MOD5441X or NANO54415? Look here...

The 'A' should work as long as your serial wiring is correct. Are you on a dev board? If so, DB9 or USB? What is the UART0 rx jumper on the dev board set to?
