That would explain the behavior of the link. The device is constantly resetting. If you cycle the power, do you see any messages before the trap messages occur?

No I don't. it immediately starts displaying the traps.

In that case I think you will need to contact sales and submit it as an RMA. I can't think of anything that would cause that to happen.
