Autoupdate launch fails (now fixed)

Post by BillC »

Hi, I have just updated my development PC to Windows 7 and installed the netburner development tools revision Rel24_RC2.

I am able to import and compile my existing projects and TicTacToe OK, and IPConfig has found my netburner board, this is a new board that is still running the supplied demo software correctly.

The problem is that I am unable to download and run either my apps or TicTacToe, each time I get an error dialog box saying

Error starting process
Cannot run program "C:\nburn\pcbin\autoupdate": Launching failed
Cannot run program "C:\nburn\pcbin\autoupdate": Launching failed
Cannot run program "C:\nburn\pcbin\autoupdate": Launching failed

I have verified that autoupdate.exe is located in the above directory and I can start it manually, but have not continued any further with the manual process.

Has anyone any ideas as to the cause of the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Bill

OK, its now fixed, I followed the advice in an earlier post and set it to run as administrator, come back XP.

Hi, I also checked out support database and found a few other users had this problem. They were resolved by

a) disabled UAC (user account control)

b) setting the compatibility mode of NBEclipse and Auto Update Tool to "Windows XP SP3".

Bill - Don't know how you missed it. Item 1.16. ;) It's been up there since, oh I don't know about a minute ago.
