What's the impact of this upon the availability of MOD5282?

A potential issue that could affect more than just the IC market is the Tessera ITC patent ruling. This ruling will affect the importation of certain BGA packages from particular suppliers: Freescale

Hello,

The significant parts of this suit as listed in the statement are:

1. "The ITC order does not prevent Freescale from marketing or selling affected products outside of the U.S."

2. The patent expires in Sept 2010, although Freescale is actively trying to find a solution before that time.

3. Note that there is not a component supply problem, it only affects selling/shipping the parts to destinations in the USA.

To date we manufacture 99% of our products in the USA. In anticipation of this legal issue, NetBurner obtained substantial inventories of processors. If we need additional assemblies beyond that, there are no restrictions for manufacturing outside the USA. We are working to ensure that there are no effects to our customers, but it certainly would not hurt to build some lead time into your schedule.
