SB72 no longer seen in the tools
After we loaded our app the SB72 boots just fine and sends out messages as expected out the serial port but now none of the tools like IPSetup or AutoUpdater can find the board. I also cannot PING the board.
I tried following the SB72 Monitor Recovery Instructions and all went well there but again, still no longer seen in the tools. Any Ideas on how to 'really' reset the SB72?

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
First of all, a monitor recovery was probably overkill. If you loaded the factory application using FLA via MTTTY, it would have achieved what you want. If you are running the factory application and you still cannot see the device on your network, then I would assume that the network is the issue. Try plugging the Ethernet cable directly in to your PC ethernet port. Reset the device, wait 10 seconds, and then check to see if IPSetup can see the board.

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
Forrest
Thank you for the prompt reply. A little more here...
I have 2 boards. One is a brand new out of the box on and the second was a new one but its the one I have been fooling with. The 1st board I can see with all the tools so I know my cabling and such is correct. I have the PC connected directly to the SB72 using a crossover cable. Again, I know the setup is correct.
Prior to me loading my application, the 2nd board also was seen by the tools. Since then and even after reloading 'factory' code from your site, it is not seen by any tool. The SB72 is Rev 1.7
Hope that helps?

So did you reflash the monitor and then load your application? Or the factory application. What kind of output are you seeing from the serial cable?jjacob2261 wrote:Forrest

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
Forrest;
After re-flashing the monitor code I used the app that came with the recovery zip and not my app. I would have thought I should see the board in IPsetup now but no I do not.
In MTTY I see the debug messages from your app about listening to port 23... and other stuff so I know the app is running.
Not sure where to go from here. I have tried the above on several boards and the same result. I have not touched the one board that has never seen my app. That one still works in all the tools.
Is there code/procedure to make a SB72 a virgin factory fresh board that I can get?
Thanks!

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
Which version of the NNDK are you running? Also, are both of your SB72's Rev 1.7?

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
Forrest;
A VERY OLD ONE 1.95
I have downloaded the latest NNDK and will rebuild my APP when I get the boards back working with code or whatever from you all. I am still not understanding why if I do the SB72 recovery and load the APP that comes with it why the board is still not seen in IPSETUP for example.
Yes all the boards I have in front of me are 1.7
Thanks, Jeff

Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
The most direct way to determine what is going on would be to do a wireshark capture when you click on the search button. You should see a broadcast go out, and a reply from the module. If you see a reply from the module, its likely windows is blocking somehow. I had a problem in which windows would let me see it the first few times, then nothing. Turned out to be my firewall settings. Wasn't a problem with XP, but started with windows 7.
Re: SB72 no longer seen in the tools
Are the tools you're referring to the ones installed with 1.95 or downloaded from the website? What's the version numbers of them?

Dan;
It was resolved. The files on your site in the SB72 Monitor Recovery zip are from 2004. They need to get updated.
Thanks, Jeff
